Kjaer: “My dream is to stay at Milan; Zlatan gives a lot, he is a great champion”

By Oliver Fisher -

Simon Kjaer has once again expressed his desire to stay at AC Milan into next season and has praised the impact of Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

The Danish defender – who turned 31 last month – arrived at Milan on loan in January until the end of the season from LaLiga side Sevilla, having spent an unsuccessful first six months of the campaign with Atalanta.

Reports in the media – such as this one from il Corriere dello Sport – have reported that the player himself is happy to stay at Milan having had a positive impact in the group and having settled in well.

At Milanello he has been praised for his professionalism and commitment put into every training session. Kjaer’s future appears to be red and black.

Milan have an option to buy inserted into the deal that could see them sign Kjaer for just €2.5million once the season ends, and it remains to be seen whether the Rossoneri are willing to make Kjaer’s move permanent.

Kjaer spoke to Sky Italia about the current moment he is experiencing with regards to the COVID-19 pandemic, and went on to discuss his future with the Rossoneri.

“I am doing training every day, eating as I should. I am preparing to return. It is a difficult time for everyone, it will be important to stay calm and then prepare to return to play when there is a chance,” he said (via MilanNews).

“Without putting pressure on anyone we have to start when it’s right. I’m getting ready to return when the right time is and make the best possible impression on Milan to persuade them to keep me. It’s a goal, a dream. I’m working for that physically, mentally in this difficult period. Without a doubt my dream is to stay at Milan.

“Zlatan gives a lot, he is a great champion who has won almost everything. He is a person who wants to win in every training session. That mentality is something you have or you don’t, then everyone has their own style but he has an impressive desire to win.”
