CM: Kolo Muani France’s newest World Cup scorer – he could have been a Milan player

By Oliver Fisher -

There was a new name added to France’s list of World Cup goal scorers on Wednesday night as Randal Kolo Muani sealed the semi-final win against Morocco in Qatar.

In fact, Kolo Muani’s first goal for France could hardly have come in more memorable circumstances as the 24-year-old came off the bench in the 79th minute of the game against Morocco which was 1-0 at the time, and within 44 seconds he had clinched their progress to the final.

It was the third-quickest goal for a substitute in World Cup history, behind only Morales in 2002 (16 seconds) and Sand in 1998 (26 seconds). He is also having an excellent season with Eintracht Frankfurt, having amassed 14 goal contributions in as many league games (5 goals, 9 assists).

Calciomercato.com report that the Bondy-born forward could have moved to Milan in the summer of 2021 from Nantes, with the Rossoneri looking for a striker to work alongside Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Olivier Giroud.

They tried to sign him on what would have been a free transfer, but in the end Eintracht Frankfurt’s swoop was decisive and he signed a deal there until 2027. The intuitions of Geoffrey Moncada and the management seem to have been correct in targeting him.

  1. Every transfer window there are probably 100 players who are linked to Milan. Going over this guy or that guy could have been at Milan is useless.
They have a very finite budget and I’m mostly happy with the players we have. Some of which feature very prominently in this World Cup.

  2. of course, especially on the number 9 we are completely overstaffed, Giroud and Origi are technically skilled and game-intelligent strikers 😉 We had the chance for Enzo, but 20mio is far too much for big Milan, as it seems even if you can sell him a year later for 60 😉 RB Leipzig will soon sell Gvardiol by how much? how about exchange CDK with Paqueta? 😉 again and again plz start using your brain…
