Bayern Munich head coach Vincent Kompany was at San Siro last night, and reports are claiming it was not just to scout Inter ahead of their Champions League meeting.
According to Calciomercato.com, Kompany was present at the Coppa Italia to watch Malick Thiaw up close. The defender is considering the possibility of returning to play in his home country, to convince the Germany coach Julian Nagelsmann to call him up ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
Indeed, Bayern’s manager was snapped by paparazzi while exchanging opinions in the stands with Mehdi Benatia, the current sporting director of Marseille. The main reason for the trip was to study the strengths and weaknesses of the team coached by Simone Inzaghi, their opponent in the UCL.
