One of the names that AC Milan were linked with during the summer was Manu Kone, but now domestic rivals Roma are enjoying his exploits.
Calciomercato.com write how Kone’s excellent eprformance against Italy has turned the spotlight on the French midfielder who played as a playmaker and did it very well. Claudio Ranieri has just taken over from Ivan Juric as Roma boss, but the signing belongs to somebody else.
It was Daniele De Rossi who strongly wanted him in the capital, in fact. The then-Roma coach did not think Enzo Le Fee was enough to complete the midfield as he wanted an upgrade on Bove, so the directors acted.
Milan were in for Kone too, but while the Giallorossi were able to offload Bove to Fiorentina, the Rossoneri were unable to sell Ismael Bennacer. Thus, Roma managed to seal a loan with obligation to buy deal for €18m.
The Frenchman is getting regular minutes for the French national team and yesterday he impressed at San Siro, which could have been his home. He registered 94% on completed passes (48 out of 51) , 7 duels won out of 12 and zero times dribbled past.
Koné offers quality and dynamism in the middle of the field and runs more than anyone else. In France there are already some who compare him to N’Golo Kanté, a midfielder who exploded with Ranieri at Leicester. Milan, meanwhile, are heading back to the market to fix their issues.
he’s been on and off for the national team and at roma he definitely hasnt impressed.
Who makes this sh*t up, man?
Roma lost more games than won, what is impressive about that?
Benny is going to be our January “signing” and then we’ll move him on in the summer of 2025 and bring someone else.
Hope you are right but I am not hopeful.
He came back last year woefully out of shape. Until I see him and see him moving in a game situation I will remain a skeptic.
You are right. Besides, he is likely to get injured again before he even recovers his form from this latest one. Bennacer has spent more time injured than not, lately, not to forget that he also misses Milan time by going to the African Cup of Nations, from which he usually comes back injured.
I like Isma very much but he is finished. We should sell him as soon as possible if another club is silly enough to make an offer. No negotiations, just accept the offer whatever it is, before the buyers wise-up and withdraw!
100%
in my opinion, this matter should be changed if we show from the beginning our desire to buy a player. The examples I can share here are like Omorodion and Santiago Jimenez. In relation to that, I will also consider that an article like this seems to show their regret for their own mistakes. Things like this will always repeat themselves if they don’t have the awareness to improve Milan’s performance. There are many other clubs that have started to rise and show their best performance for this season such as Atalanta, Lazio, Napoli and Fiorentina .What I noticed is that Milan’s performance this time is the same as the previous season. (Maybe even worse than before). In conclusion, if we want to change Milan, we must take drastic measures as soon as possible so that we can win anything trophy for this season.
We had the chance to sign Koné years ago for 8M but deemed it too expensive lol. Had a second chance to sign him for 18M this summer and again management deemed him too expensive. Wonderful.
TY Redbird. fantastic decisions 🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡
I love Benny and he’s a great player. No doubt our best midfielder when healthy. But he’s so injury ravaged and prone I too am sceptical of his return to the level he was in the past.
What I am most afraid of, is these clowns replacing him. Or any of our players. Cause their recruitment work is just awful.
