Ex-Ajax star praises Milan for Reijnders signing and urges them to consider Koopmeiners

AC Milan have been urged to make a move for Teun Koopmeiners by his compatriot Ruud Krol, while the former Ajax and Napoli man praised Tijjani Reijnders.

Krol spoke during an interview with Tuttosport this morning about a number of topics from Leonardo Bonucci potentially joining Ajax to Milan’s business so far, with his comments relayed by Radio Rossonera.

He addressed the rumours linking both Milan and Juve with a move for Atalanta midfield star Teun Koopmeiners, insisting that he would be a very important player for both.

“Koop is a great player. He has an international caliber and is the starter in the Dutch national team. I certainly see him doing well at a big club,” he began.

“Juve or Milan? He would certainly be invaluable to both of them. Koopmeiners can play in all positions in the middle of the pitch: both as a playmaker and as a midfielder. He is a complete footballer who would be useful for all coaches, including Allegri.”

After the sale of Sandro Tonali, Milan decided to invest in the signing of Tijjani Reijnders from AZ Alkmaar along with Loftus-Cheek and Musah to rebuild the midfield, and Krol praised the former.

“Tijjani is a very promising young man. He has many qualities. Last year he had a fantastic season with AZ Alkmaar in both the Eredivisie and the Conference League.

“Playmaker or box to box? Reijnders likes to attack and dive forward. He can’t be a regista like Lobotka, but as a mezzala I see him doing well.

“He’s good at inserting himself and shooting, with his movements he becomes someone who can score several goals.”

Finally, Krol spoke about another of his compatriots in Marcus Holmgren Pedersen of Feyenoord, who has been linked with a number of clubs including the Rossoneri.

“He did very well last season, even if I know him less being from Feyenoord…”
