There are plenty of names flying around the Milan space currently and that can get overwhelming quickly. So, we wanted to compose a complete list of what is being reported by the media and what our beliefs are.

In doing this, we hope to offer somewhat of a complete view of the current situation in one, rather than it being an overwhelming number of different options facing the club.
The manager situation
Starting with the managers, Oliver Glasner was the leading favourite for some time to take over Massimiliano Allegri and reports from earlier this week suggested that a contract offer had been made to the Austrian free agent.
He has just left Crystal Palace after a highly successful spell with the South London club, where he overachieved heavily, seeing numerous stars depart and still managing to move forward. Whilst his league positions did not blow anyone away, he still took Crystal Palace to a European final and won it, thanks to their win in the FA Cup.
A fantastic option, indeed. However, things appear to have slowed, with Matteo Moretto reporting that he had ‘lost ground’ earlier today.
In his place, Ruben Amorim now appears to be the front-runner. The Portuguese manager was last seen in charge of Manchester United and he could be headed to the other devilish side, in the Rossoneri.
A contract offer has been made, according to reports in Portugal, and it would be on similar terms to what was ‘tabled’ to Glasner – an offer between €3-4 million for two years, with the option of another.
Highly successful in Portugal, his move to Manchester did not go as anyone had hoped. However, with the transition facing the Red Devils at the time, questions can be asked of whether he was directly responsible for their problems.
Finally, the last candidate in the race is Matthias Jaissle, who is currently the manager of Al Ahli. The German manager was previously part of the Red Bull set-up and this is why he has been looked at so thoroughly.
He, according to reports today, is willing to waive his €11m salary for a move back to Europe and he has spoken to Gerry Cardinale and Zlatan Ibrahimovic in person, during a meeting in London.
As of right now, the only reservation about appointing him would be the €6m release clause in his deal, which Cardinale is unsure of paying.
Sporting director picture
In terms of the sporting directors, Rangnick’s withdrawal has been spoken of enough for us to dive into it again here. So, we’ll move directly into the current candidates.
There is not really a primary option, it seems, but Markus Krösche is the one leading reports currently. He joined RB Leipzig in 2019, after a recommendation from Rangnick, as their sporting director, where he stayed for two years before heading to Eintracht Frankfurt, where he met another Milan link in Glasner.
Appreciated for his skills to set up a club for the long-term and his ability to sell for high prices at the right time, he is seen as a ‘less-intrusive’ option in comparison to Rangnick and he could be ready to leave Germany with the Rossoneri heavily interested.
Ramon Planes seems to be the other big name in the conversation. Having worked with Tottenham and Barcelona, he now works in the Saudi Pro League at Al-Ittihad, where he has held a role since 2024.
The Spaniard has been responsible for some huge signings in recent years and the club won the Saudi Pro League during his first season in charge. However, there would be doubts about his candidacy due to the links that seem to be purely from Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s relationship with Rafaela Pimenta.
Finally, there is Devin Ozek, whose name, like Krösche’s, has only appeared in the past few days. Having risen through the ranks of Bayer Leverkusen, he moved to Fenerbahce in 2025 but left earlier this summer.
He did not have a bad year by any means, earning a second-place finish. However, the links to him do not seem as strong compared to the others…

With every story I’m not sure whether it’s actually that the names and decisions are failing – are any of them accurate? Were we actually in on Rangnick? Is the Glasner interest real?
If the reported stuff is real then this is an absolute disaster class in how to ‘run’ a club. But it’s so ridiculous that I can’t believe it’s possibly true.
Anyone with a contract can/should be ruled out as we know Cardinale isn’t paying any club for a coach or SD. Fact.

Sure, Milan has spent a lot but that has been spread all over the place. Instead of quality players they’ve selected the “quantity” over “quality”. Not my fault you don’t understand that Milan’s individual transfer fees are really low and that has lowered the quality of the team A LOT.
In January’s mercato we got Füllkrug instead of Malen. Connect the fng dots, would you? The management/owners aren’t willing to spend enough on individual players and they helluva sure ain’t paying any club to get a new coach. Never in a million years.

Furlani is one of the biggest reasons why we are without UCL. Again. He was sacked for a reason.
Furlani wasn’t the coach. You don’t know a thing about how the club is run. Furlani’s decision to appoint Tare and Allegri were sound, conservative decisions. He was also immune to Ibrahimovic, he didn’t tolerate any of his bs and after meeting with Cardinale about 18 months ago, Ibrahimovic disappeared.
