Krunic highlights Milan’s advantage and says role demands him to ‘always be ready’ – video

Following the hard-fought win at Sampdoria, AC Milan will be looking to continue their winning streak on Sunday evening. Rade Krunic is one of the players that could feature for the Rossoneri.

The Bosnian midfielder played from start last time out, due to Ismael Bennacer’s condition, and he did well in the midfield tandem. He had several interceptions and also did a lot of the ‘dirty work’ for the Rossoneri.

In an interview with MilanTV (see video below), as cited by MilanNews, Krunic spoke about the game on Sunday and having the fans back at the stadium. He also commented on the Champions League group stage draw.

On the fans…

“We heard them very well in Genoa and we celebrated the victory together. At San Siro, it will be different with all our fans. It will be strange, but positive.”

On the team…

“We are stronger because we have new teammates. We are ready and we spend a lot of time together, even with the coach.”

On personal goals…

“I will try to help the team as much as possible. Those who play must do more, but those who do not play, like me, must do well and help their teammates when they get the chance. If I’m on the bench I must always be ready.”

Still on the team…

“Our advantage over the other teams is that we know the coach better. The expectations are very high. Last year was a positive season for the return to the Champions League and this must be the goal again this year.”

On the Champions League draw…

“Even if it’s a draw with strong teams, we have the chance to play against these great teams. We are happy to play them anyway.”

On last year’s match against Cagliari…

“We could have finished qualifying for the Champions League earlier. We are not happy with the performance we put in. We want to win before the break.”
