SM: Krunic idea, relay in attack and right wing dilemma – team news ahead of Cagliari-Milan

By Oliver Fisher -

There could be some significant changes to AC Milan’s starting line-up for the game against Cagliari tomorrow night, we have learned.

As highlighted by Stefano Pioli at his pre-match press conference, Brahim Diaz suffered a knock in training and may not be part of the starting XI that will take the field against Cagliari tomorrow evening.

As our colleagues at SempreMilan.it report, place of the Spanish playmaker, Kessié could make a comeback again in the role of attacking midfielder but the doubts related to the condition of Tonali – who had a fever until yesterday – may prevent that happening.

If Tonali were still not fit enough to start, the Ivorian would in fact take the place of the Italian, which could then see Rade Krunic used as the attacking midfielder behind Olivier Giroud. The Frenchman will start, but Zlatan Ibrahimovic could come off the bench earlier as his condition is improving.

Regarding the right wing spot, Alexis Saelemaekers and Junior Messias currently have the advantage over Rebic who can also be deployed on the right while Rafael Leao on the left remains in his place.
