GdS: From Kudus to Debast – Maldini and Massara in Qatar to scout Milan targets

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan directors Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara will soon be in Qatar ready to watch some players that interest them up close, a report claims.

According to reports from La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanLive), the two representatives of Milan’s technical area will land in Doha in the next few days as they will take advantage of the break to watch the World Cup up close.

The plan is to see a few games while Milan carry out their winter training camp in Dubai before the season resumes, with the January transfer window now just one month away and some issues to address.

Apart from Hakim Ziyech – a player who has been on Milan’s wish list for some time – Maldini and Massara would seem interesting in the evolution of three young talents who are present in Qatar.

One of them is name already known well in Noah Okafor, a striker for Switzerland and Red Bull Salzburg, who Milan met in the Champions League this year.

Then there is Mohammed Kudus, the 22-year-old Ajax star from Ghana. He scored a brace against South Korea to win the game for his country and put them on the verge of qualifying for the last 16.

Finally a defender is on the list of players to watch in teenager Zeno Debast, who plays for the Belgian national team and for Anderlecht. Milan have already signed Alexis Saelemaekers from the Belgian side, and could open talks again if they are impressed.

  1. Kudus would be nice for RW but after his performances we will be priced out of his market….seems like the only reasonable option is Ziyech on loan with option – if he reduces some of his salary.
