Arguably the two best wide players in Serie A right now will both be on the pitch on Sunday night in Khvicha Kvaratskhelia for Napoli and Rafael Leao for AC Milan.
The Lega Serie A account tweeted a comparison of the two player’s numbers this season which certainly lean in favour of the Georgian.
Kvaratskhelia has been a surprise package in Serie A this season and is staking a claim to be named the player of the year. Leao has struggled at times to record the sorts of numbers Milan enjoyed last season.
That is shown by Kvaratskhelia having 12 goals compared to Leao’s eight, as well as 10 assists compared to Leao’s six.
That is despite Leao having 74 shots all season whilst the Napoli player has had 66. Incidentally, Kvaratskhelia has had 26 shots on target compared to Leao’s 21.
One area that Leao is more efficient than Kvaratskhelia this season is key passes as despite making 110 less passes all season, he has made two more key passes than Kvaratskhelia.
Half leaos shots have been half chance 30 yarders, off balance leaning back wayward efforts when he could have more than likely played another key pass, assist or kept an attack alive.
It’s not a total burn as i feared it will be. Makes me remember that headline ….’if only he had the hunger of Cristiano’
