La Nazione: Spezia agree loan-with-obligation deal for Milan goalkeeper

It seems that Devis Vasquez’s time at AC Milan is coming to an end as Spezia have agreed a permanent deal, according to a report.

According to La Nazione (via Radio Rossonera), the deal between Milan and Spezia is now closed and it will be a permanent one. Not immediately, however, because the formula is that of a loan with an obligation to buy.

In addition to that, there is a 15% resale clause in favour of the Rossoneri while there will also be some bonuses triggered in the event that Vasquez reaches a certain number of appearances for the Ligurian club.

Milan signed the Colombian goalkeeper at the start of the January 2023 window to help cover an injury to Mike Maignan, but it raised some eyebrows at the time given that his name came from left field and he was playing at Club Guarani in Paraguay.

A couple of loan spells followed after very little playing time. Last season, he played 20 games with 10 coming in the Championship with Sheffield Wednesday, then the same number in Serie B with Ascoli.

Torino have been linked with a move, but it seems that a return to the second tier of Italian football is on the cards for the 26-year-old.
