La Stampa: Stade Rennais starlet Ugochukwu on Milan’s list of targets

More and more midfielders are being linked with AC Milan since Renato Sanches vanished as a potential option, and Lesley Ugochukwu is the latest.

With Franck Kessie having departed for Barcelona on a free transfer and Tiemoue Bakayoko potentially heading for an early loan termination, Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara have been tasked with bolstering the midfield department available to head coach Stefano Pioli.

A number of targets have already been linked from Seko Fofana and Davide Frattesi, but La Stampa (via MilanNews) report that a new idea has emerged as Milan have in fact set their sights on Lesley Ugochukwu.

The 18-year-old had somewhat of a breakout season in 2021-22 for Stade Rennais as he played 18 Ligue 1 games for them, scoring one goal, and the idea would be that the teenager join and be allowed to grow without pressure at Milanello. The France U18 international has been with Rennais for a decade, having joined their academy.
