AC Milan’s assistant coach Marco Landucci answered some difficult questions after the loss against Parma, including one about the attacking configuration.
Landucci stepped into the dugout for the fifth time this season with Massimiliano Allegri suspended again. The previous games saw wins over Bari, Udinese, Lecce and most recently Torino, yet the 100% record was ended as Parma left San Siro with all three points.

It was a controversial moment that won the game, with Troilo’s header from a corner initially disallowed for at least one foul. Yet, the referee was called over for an On-Field Review that most experts think shouldn’t have been enforced, and he gave the goal in the 80th minute.
It means that the unbeaten run ended at 24 games, and Inter are now 10 points clear at the tp. Landucci spoke to the reporters present after the game in the press conference room and responded to questions after a tough night for his side. MilanNews relayed what he had to say.
What’s the team’s mood?
“We’re disappointed. We tried everything we could to win it. Nothing went right for us… Gabbia got hurt before the match, Ruben is in the hospital, everything went wrong for us.
“We had chances. It was a bit of a bad night. But now we’re resetting, we’ll start again on Tuesday. We have 12 games, so we’ll take it one game at a time and then see where we are.”
Are there too many negative incidents with regards to officiating?
“In Serie A now, we only talk about referees… If I talk to the Parma referees, it was a goal. For us, it was a foul. But the referees are the ones who make judgments, we just have to focus on doing better.
“The guys in the dressing room were all disappointed, like the rest of us. But we need to move on and focus on Cremonese.”
Is top four now the only objective?
“I think Allegri has always said this. It’s very important for us to get into the Champions League, but you can’t get there with talk. We have to get points. The atmosphere has to be positive, and we always are. The wind blows away the chatter, the Livorno people do.”
Was there a lack of brilliance?
“We played on Wednesday, but the team is doing well. We lacked a bit of energy, we wanted to rock the world right away, we needed more calm. But we’ll regain our energy during the week and we’ll definitely do better on Sunday.”
Why don’t you play with three forwards against teams that sit deep?
“It’s not like you win games by playing with three forwards… We got 54 points this way. It’s true that we struggle more against closed teams, but today we didn’t move much. We worked well during the week, we expected this game. But these games start a bit badly…”

We may stop saying to ourself (the) devils. It brings bad luck. And also the devils logo on our jersey ffs. 🫰🏽😁❤️🖤
I don’t think we’ll ever see three attackers. I’m not even hopefully about it for next season. Sure, we should be happy to be in the position we’re in, but it could have been so much more. Our position is what we deserve, especially for failing to convert chances.
At this rate, I don’t expect to keep Leao or Pulisic, both leaving. (Unless they sign kean to keep Leao happy)
Settle down ppl. We lost one game and you arent hopeful for next season? are you new here? Where were we at this point last year? Geez. We are struggling, yes, this season we could’ve achieve more, yes. BUT the goal was never that. It was to go back to winning, to be back in the UCL and to overhaul the squad. Allegri has done that. It’s silly to think that at the very end of the season he will stop what has worked all season to put some other formation he hasnt tried. It’s Allegri ppl, he is results first . I have 0 doubt he will implement a new formation going into NEXT season. Perhaps when we officially qualify for UCL, he will try it. but it’s silly to ask him to change what we have been doing all season, at the most important moment.
It’s not about one game. Have you been watching any of the games? This is a persistent problem. Constantly changing front two which struggle to produce. Most of the goals we’ve scored came down to individual moments of magic. We have neither a reliable strike force nor the players effective in Max’s plans up front.
This 👍
I will continue to say it Allegri selections is killing Milan always. Leao is not a striker let him play his left wing which made him popular and pulisic is a supporting striker not a box striker. Your cant play without a box striker and expects something to happen
Leave Leao on his best position and play a striker then goals will come
When I saw Allegri come out to the stands in the second half after he probably have the team a team talk at the break I thought to myself… Just let Landucci coach. He’s good at setting up the team to attack. Hope he didn’t make the team overly pragmatic
“We got 54 points this way”
And you’d have well over 60 if you’d change formation against the bottom table teams.
