In addition to the negative result at San Siro this evening, there was more bad news for AC Milan on the injury front too.

There was a late line-up change for Massimiliano Allegri to make just before kick-off against Parma. Matteo Gabbia pulled up during the warm-ups complaining of muscle discomfort so he was withdrawn, with Koni De Winter taking his place.

According to MilanNews, Gabbia didn’t start for Milan against Parma due to a minor muscle strain. It seems as though the Italian was spared in part to prevent the situation from worsening and potentially resulting in a full-blown muscle injury, so it was more of a ‘precaution’.

Meanwhile, the same source are reporting that Ruben Loftus-Cheek suffered severe head trauma resulting in broken teeth from the violent collision with Corvi. Fortunately, the Englishman remained conscious throughout and is on his way to the hospital for checks.

The incident occurred in the seventh minute when Alexis Saelemaekers sent in a rabona cross that Loftus-Cheek tried to meet, but his head collided with Corvi’s as he rushed off his line. RLC had to be taken off due to concussion protocol, understandably, and he was stretchered off with a neck brace on.
