CM.it: Lazetic yet to make a senior appearance – Milan’s plan for his future

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan’s only January signing Marko Lazetic is yet to have a senior minute since joining leading some to question what the plan is for him.

According to Calciomercato.it, Milan signed him with the intention of keeping him around the first team squad to learn from the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Olivier Giroud but a few days were enough to understand that this season is one for him to get up to his best condition rather than make an immediate impact.

Since arriving at the club Lazetic has had an almost equal diet of individual training and work with the team, doing some athletic training to catch up with his team-mates.

Last Saturday, he played for Federico Giunti’s Primavera team for about 30 minutes and showed his physical power but didn’t manage to complete the second half as he picked up a minor problem.

The feelings on Lazetic continue to be very positive but it will take time to see him playing in the first team, but at the end of the season evaluations will be made and it will be decided what the best path for Lazetic is.

The idea of a loan spell is taking hold, to play continuously in a team that focuses on young players such as Empoli or Genoa, but it is too early to know for sure if this is a concrete hypothesis.
