TMW: Lazio offer five-year deal to Milan defender but distance between parties remains

Lazio have not made a big step forward towards signing Alessio Romagnoli despite raising their previous bid, according to a report.

TMW report that during the last meeting between the parties, the Biancoceleste put a five-year contract on the table, but as part of that they only slightly raised their previous salary offer to €2.5m net per season plus bonuses.

That means that there is still distance between the proposal they have put forward and the demands of Romagnoli and his entourage. Lazio remain strongly interested in the Rossoneri captain, but in addition the duration of the contract they will have to make an effort if they want to close the agreement.

As our colleagues at SempreMilan.it reported earlier in the week, Lazio continue to follow Romagnoli closely, but the offers they have tabled so far have not yet convinced him. At present, the hypothesis of a renewal with Milan at reduced figures compared to the €5.5m net he currently earns cannot be ruled out.
