Lazio vs. Milan sees two renowned strikers trying to drag their team to victory again

By Oliver Fisher -

There are a number of interesting sub-plots ahead of tonight’s game between AC Milan and Lazio, and one of them involves the two centre-forwards.

It will be a challenge between Ciro Immobile and Olivier Giroud who will lead the line for the Biancocelesti and the Rossoneri respectively. Both are internationally renowned strikers who are regarded as experts and protagonists in the role, but both also still have a point to prove.

Giroud has not scored since the winner in Naples against Napoli, but he has already scored twice against Lazio this season in the Coppa Italia match at San Siro. He often scores decisive goals, and the game at the Olimpico is arguably as big as the derby (where he scored a match-winning brace) and the game at the Maradona.

Immobile meanwhile is the top scorer in Serie A at the moment with 25 goals in the league, including four of the last five goals scored by the Aquile. He dragged the team to a win against Genoa, and scored a last-minute equaliser against Torino after that, showing he too is there for the big moments.

  1. Giroud is/has become a one dimensional player thanks to Pioli…..he is not a striker he is a header,to win today we must use our feet, directly at goal and get some follow rebounds.
