Maurizio Sarri has once again commented on AC Milan’s situation and their difficulties last season, admitting it is difficult to assess.
One thing is certain for Milan: a big improvement is needed on 2024-25, a campaign that saw the Rossoneri finish eighth in the league table, lose the Coppa Italia final to Bologna and get dumped out of the Champions League by Feyenoord.

As such, big changes have already been made. Igli Tare arrived as the new sporting director and there was talk of him reuniting with Sarri after their spell together at Lazio (though the pair had difficulties), but eventually the Albanian brought in Massimiliano Allegri.
A few days ago, Sarri – the new coach of Lazio – spoke to Corriere dello Sport and responded to a question on Milan. Now he has done the same with Sportitalia in another interview.
“Am I more intrigued by Napoli or Milan? I think the Neapolitans will be the clear favourites for the Scudetto. Their dominance will last at least another two or three years,” he said.
“Judging the Rossoneri’s situation from the outside is difficult. The feeling they gave me this year was that of strong players, but without a strong team. Taken one by one, they are strong, but the team has always left much to be desired.”
