League positions of first team and Primavera highlight Milan’s impressive growth as a club

By Euan Burns -

2023/24 has proved to be a very successful season so far for AC Milan as a club which shows the positive general direction of everything.

Rossoneri fans are enjoying the international break in the knowledge that the first team sit at the top of the Serie A table. The only blip at this stage domestically has been the 5-1 defeat against Inter.

The main positive is that Milan feel like a genuine title challenger rather than a team that is just in good form. In 2021/22, Milan were not expected to win the league and whilst they were deserved winners, it was hardly a domination.

With the new depth of the squad and increased quality, there is more optimism around the team.

Simultaneously, Milan’s Primavera team are at the top of the league as well. They have 16 out of a possible 18 in the Primavera and have won their first two UEFA Youth League matches.

Ignazio Abate seems to be doing a sterling job at the helm and there are a number of really talented youngsters that could certainly be first-team candidates in the very near future.

Clearly, the vision for both the first team and the Primavera team is working well, especially when you consider that the youngsters were in the second division a few years ago.

There is a lot of the season still to go, but things are looking positive around the club both on and off the pitch.
