Leao’s agent blasts ‘false reports’ and says forward ‘wants to stay at Milan’

By Euan Burns -

The agent of AC Milan forward Rafael Leao has taken aim at the press over what he feels are false reports about his client and stressed that Leao would like to stay at the club.

Speaking during an interview with Sky Sport (via Milan News), Ted Dimvula spoke clearly about the future of the Portuguese forward who Milan would like to sign on a new contract.

Reports have suggested in recent days that there has been a serious slowdown in the negotiation between the player and the club to sign a contract extension.

Dimvula believes that these are false reports and that there is still an open dialogue between the two parties.

“There is a lot of false and misleading information about Rafael Leao, mainly in the Italian press. This has only one purpose: to paralyse the cordial and professional dialogue that we have with the Milan management regarding the extension of Rafael’s contract. We are currently working together to find a satisfactory solution for all parties,” Dimvula said.

The even better news for Milan fans is that Dimvula also made no bones about the fact that Leao would like to find an agreement and stay with the club.

“The player’s priority has not changed: he wants to stay at AC Milan and continue to grow and progress at this club and in this city that he loves so much,” he said.

“We therefore firmly deny any desire on the part of Rafael and/or his entourage to lower his release clause in order to facilitate a departure of the player next summer. Rafael is completely focused on the important goal at hand with his current club, and he hopes, in this difficult period, to be able to let him work calmly and serenely to return to winning ways.”

It is believed that the release clause is a stumbling block in the negotiation.

  1. What Italian media making sh*t up? No way, they are the most honorable bunch of ppl on the planet.

** @bb incase you read this I’m joking. I know how hard it is for you to understand the written word **

    1. Not really my fault you fail to see someone actually agreeing with you for once. Not going to make the same mistake twice though. 🙂

  2. Dude didn’t sign yet. We were reading for his contract in last 1 year. And Bennacer – maybe couple of months, and he changed agent.

  3. The more time passes by, without a new contract being agreed, the more stories like that will come out.
The best way to stop those stories is to get the deal done. The rest of it is just lip service

  4. As much as journalists love to make up stories, maybe this one was true. Of course leao’s entourage and menagment will deny the rumors. Otherwise, it will spill over to the fans, and u never want the fans angry. Plus other reasons to keep it quite. The fact is leao still has NOT renewed for over a year now. Doubt it if he ever will.
