There was worry when Rafael Leao was taken off the pitch against Torino. However, an MRI has quickly made fears about the AC Milan star lessen.
This season, Milan have struggled with their strikers. Christopher Nkunku and Santiago Gimenez have not performed and have both struggled with issues. So, Massimiliano Allegri has had to think outside the box.
As a result, it has meant that Christian Pulisic and Leao have had to be the two to attack the box more often than not. However, this has been problematic in its own right. The duo have also struggled with injuries through the season, making their playing time together limited.
Panic lessened for Leao
This week, it was Pulisic who struggled with flu symptoms. Yet, he returned to be the hero as the Rossoneri won 3-2 against Torino. His return, though, was marred by Leao’s own injury.
Seven minutes after Adrien Rabiot’s goal, the Portuguese went off, holding his groin, making many worry about the length he could miss.

However, after an MRI test today, there is nothing severe to worry about. Antonio Vitiello reports that a muscle injury has been ruled out, and work has already begun to resolve the inflammation. Panic lessened, certainly.

Can the stats gurus check if my hypothesis is correct. Under Max Allegri, Milan had/have the most muscular injuries.
I don’t think so. They’ve had thee muscle injuries at a high rate since 2020. If anything, it’s the quality of the training pitches that should be in question. On top of the weakening medical staff that was once revered.
I still have nightmares from 2020/21 and 2023/24 injuries…
This season, many of our injuries happened during NT duties (Rabiot, Pulišić and Estupiñán) and since the squad is so thin, each injury basically affects a starter.
New to the club I see
Nope been here since 99 Nelli. Rilassarsi!
Good News. We have still yet to see a clicking leao/puli front two.
Will we ever 😂 Honestly though the way they are playing I’m optimistic if they can get on the field at the same time Milan could be more balanced and potent in attack.
