Rafael Leao has been the talk of the town for the past 24 hours, after his substitution and subsequent reaction in the defeat to Lazio.
In the same stadium where he was the protagonist of the cooling break saga alongside Theo Hernandez last season, Leao has again become the centre of attention. This time, his reaction to being taken off in the second half has generated headlines, with his anger and frustration evident.
The former Lille man was annoyed that Christian Pulisic didn’t find a couple of the runs he made in behind, and when the No.10 came up on the fourth official’s board, he took it out on Mike Maignan and Massimiliano Allegri, before kicking a water bottle and shaking his head on the bench.
Leao had chosen not to make any statements or to speak, until last night. He chose his Instagram story to do so, posting no photos of himself, nor any words from him, but a quote from the Gospel (Luke chapter 1, verse 37).
This is the passage chosen by Leao, in a slightly revised version compared to the canonical one, but which does not lose its meaning: “Jesus said: do what is within your reach, the impossible is my task.”
The Portuguese forward is facing one of the toughest moments of the season and we will see how he reacts on the pitch in the coming days, starting with training at Milanello today.

He admits it’s impossible for him to work for the team? He can’t do more so the others should work even harder for him? 🙂
Just leave. Go play with Theo in Saudi Arabia.
Everything Leao is blown out of proportion, every Tom,Dik and Harry feed on it like flies.
