Leao calms the Milan fans amid injury scare: “I’m fine, nothing serious”

Rafael Leao was forced to come off in the game between AC Milan and Lazio after just 11 minutes this afternoon. With Inter up next, the winger made sure to calm the fans after the game.

The Portuguese winger has been a key player for Milan not just in the league but above all in the Champions League this season. He was tremendous against Napoli and the Rossoneri are hoping to make use of his qualities against Inter too.

According to SportMediaset (via Luca Maninetti), as he left San Siro this afternoon, Leao said: “I’m fine, nothing serious”. Reassuring words that will allow the fans to properly celebrate the 2-0 win against Lazio.

Alexis Saelemaekers replaced the winger and actually did a good job, allowing Theo Hernandez to burst forward more often (and that paid off). In any case, it’s clear that having Leao available for Wednesday’s game would be a huge boost.
