Leao denies involvement in latest Serie A scandal: “We are people with families and reputations”

Rafael Leao has distanced himself from the latest saga that has engulfed Italian football, insisting he has ‘no involvement’.

Earlier this week, the Guardia di Finanza in Milan were summoned amid allegations that Serie A players and other celebrities were involved in an escort ring and the use of ‘laughing gas’ as a recreational substance.

La Gazzetta dello Sport even added that around 50 Serie A players – including some from Milan and Inter – were customers of the event agency. Naturally, some names have come out as potentially being involved.

‘No involvement’

Among the profiles that have been mentioned on some websites and newspapers is that of Leao, but the forward has responded to these claims via a statement on his Instagram story.

“In recent days, my name, like that of other footballers, has appeared on websites, social media, and newspapers in reference to an investigation by the Milan Prosecutor’s Office.

“I want to make it clear that I have no involvement in the facts under investigation. I am not involved and have not committed any crime. I urge everyone to avoid arbitrarily or superficially associating my name with this situation, without regard for the truth or respect for private life.

“Before being footballers, we are people with families and reputations. For this reason, I have already instructed my lawyer to defend me in every way possible against anyone who continues to spread false or damaging news.”

Hopefully that will now put an end to any false associations, so Leao can now focus on getting ready for the big game against Juventus on Sunday night at San Siro.

  1. Laughing gas is used by alot of players, Garnacho posted vids of him Driving down the road and using it. It also destroys brain cells permanently and creates neurological movement problems that cant ever be restored. I literally cant do Math now from that shytte

    1. I hope he’s not involved, because I have a feeling they would sell him immediately. Although this is mainly a problem in Italy, very few players haven’t used the services of those women—not only in Italy, but elsewhere as well. I sincerely hope he’s not part of this scandal.

  2. This is where they’re going to get hurt. It’s not the actual purchase of services, which isn’t illegal, as selling one’s own body in Italy is legal. “Pimping” is the illegality. In other words, the people who ran the service are in trouble. But where those involved will get hurt is reputationally and if they have spouses/children. Although if you’re the Stankovic family apparently it was a father and son thing, lol.

  3. So dreadlocks/being a rapper on the side and whenever there’s a scandal Rafa is an automatic suspect? This guy is actually quite disciplined and positive despite the constant desire to label him a ‘diva’ TBH, considering the current questions regarding his future with us or not, I would hazard a guess that tabloid rag journalists who support our competitors are behind the speculative narrative. Absolute rubbish and without proof, unfair to the player and more importantly, to the Man. Forza Rafa. We who have seen what you’re capable of and have done for us over the years will always back you whether in Milan or elsewhere! 🖕to all these hacks masquerading as journalists.
