Rafael Leao has established himself as one of the best dribblers in Serie A, and his numbers suggest that it can be extended to the rest of Europe too.
La Gazzetta dello Sport reports how with 76 dribbles completed so far in Serie A this season, he is the player with the highest number in Serie A. Caprari is second at 54, Felipe Anderson third at 50.
Within Milan, Saelemaekers is second in the Rossoneri squad with 41 dribbles – therefore 35 behind his team-mate – and when extending the analysis to the ‘top five’ leagues in Europe, only Vinicius (Real Madrid), Boufal (Angers) and Saint-Maximin (Newcastle) have more.
To give another indication of Leao’s growth, last year he finished the season with 40 dribbles, and in 2019-20 he had 39. Now he is at almost double, with 11 goals and 6 assists to show for it too. Milan have a lethal weapon that they must now secure with a well-earned renewal.
