It was not a good Saturday evening for AC Milan against Udinese, continuing a negative trend since the defeat to Parma.
The numbers tell a story: Milan have gone from having the chance to be within striking distance of league-leaders Inter to now being 12 points behind them. Not only that, but they have handed second place over to Napoli after a run of four defeats in seven games.
Everyone is showing concerning signs, from the forwards who continue to struggle to the centre-backs who have lost the solidity they possessed in the first 25 games or so. Even Massimiliano Allegri seems to be feeling the heat, with his switch to the 4-3-3 proving to be a disastrous one.
Then there is the case of Rafael Leao. The Portuguese forward has struggled all season with inconsistent form and physical issues, which all came to a head when he was taken off vs. Udinese, with fans jeering him.
Lorenzo and Stefano discuss Milan’s struggles from a mental point of view in recent weeks, with several players failing to turn up when needed. Leao deserves some of the blame, but is far from the only culprit.
