Rafael Leao’s adventure at AC Milan, which began in the summer of 2019, seems to have reached its final credits.
That is according to Corriere della Sera (via MilanNews), who report that the rather loud jeers from the fans during Saturday’s match against Udinese hurt Leao and perhaps marked the definitive end of his love affair with the Rossoneri.

It has been seven years in the making, but seven years in which – despite his enormous potential – he failed to make the leap in quality everyone expected, and the supporters seem to be the last to have recognised this.
Sale to be considered
As a result, the forward’s future at Milan is very much up in the air. Indeed, if offers of around €50m were to arrive in the summer he would be sold, which is a figure well below what he might have fetched even a couple of years ago.
As of now, no club are even willing to put that figure on the table. The World Cup, which Leao will play at with the Portugal national team, could be an important opportunity for him to showcase his talent and attract new potential buyers.
Where could Rafa go to play? The Premier League and Saudi Arabia are currently the most likely destinations. Regardless of where his future lies, the feeling is that something has broken with Milan, and therefore parting ways at the end of this season could be a good thing for all parties.
There’s time to think about the future, though now it’s crucial to focus on the present because there’s still Champions League qualification to be secured. The management hope Leao can lend a significant hand in achieving it, perhaps before packing his bags.

It is best that Tare and Furlani make the long term decisions. Instead of being fired…if Leao will be sold it should at least be by someone competent to get enough money.
Leao in EPL? LOL. Doomed. If he can’t even make a couple of sprints in the slowest TOP5-league he has terrible times ahead in the UK.
Leao obviously sells newsprint, attract E-prints, He is a hot commodity, so we will continue to see different articles right, left and center.
One thing is certain, he is still the best and most talk about, sell Leao and Milan is doomed without credible replacement
Hasn’t been the best since Pulisic came though.
The best? Ha ha ha ha/
Most talked about. Yes, but for being trash
These headlines are so predictable, as is Italian media in general.
This is when a competent management needs to come out and shield the players from the noise. Unfortunately we don’t have one.
