MN: Leao is not like Kessie – his words about staying at Milan are not empty

By Oliver Fisher -

Rafael Leao will not follow the same path as his team-mate Franck Kessie and will instead commit to renewing his contract with AC Milan, a report claims.

MilanNews writes how Milan fans are sceptical of any public declaration that a player makes about his future after Franck Kessie’s words at the Olympic Games over the summer during which he pledged to stay at the club.

La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) reported what Kessie said five months ago at the end of July when he was in Tokyo with the Ivory Coast: “I’ll be back from the Olympics and I’ll fix everything. I’d like to stay AC Milan forever.”

Now, Rafael Leao has taken the decision to openly confirm that he would like to stay and extend his contract, as Theo Hernandez also said at the end of January.

Negotiations are well underway though in this case, and it is a matter of time before the winger extends with Milan until 2026 with a salary raise. “Not all players are the same,” the report concludes.

  2. I believe Leao words after he signed the renewal.

The fans just had enough after dollaruma, hakan, and cashie case where they promises with sweet words but turns out they’re a fkin liar 🙁

  3. There’s no way anyone is believing this Until penis put on paper. What if Kessie signs a one year extension with a release clause of say €15m so Milan can get something? I think that may just placate the fans a bit
