MilanNews writes how Milan fans are sceptical of any public declaration that a player makes about his future after Franck Kessie’s words at the Olympic Games over the summer during which he pledged to stay at the club.
La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) reported what Kessie said five months ago at the end of July when he was in Tokyo with the Ivory Coast: “I’ll be back from the Olympics and I’ll fix everything. I’d like to stay AC Milan forever.”
Now, Rafael Leao has taken the decision to openly confirm that he would like to stay and extend his contract, as Theo Hernandez also said at the end of January.
Negotiations are well underway though in this case, and it is a matter of time before the winger extends with Milan until 2026 with a salary raise. “Not all players are the same,” the report concludes.
