Bianchin: Leao ‘not unsellable’ for Milan amid ‘different times’ – the price in mind

AC Milan will evaluate offers for Rafael Leao this summer, and there is a figure that would seriously tempt them to sell.

Leao is having a familiar season in terms of the narrative surrounding him. The forward has been productive, hitting double figures in terms of goals, yet there are still doubts regarding his consistency and he has battled physical issues too.

This has led to suggestions that the Portuguese could get a contract renewal but could also be sold before 2026-27. That in itself might perfectly summarise the polarising nature of one of Milan’s recent icons.

€80m and gone?

Luca Bianchin commented on Leao’s future in La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews), stating that Milan have ‘stopped considering Leao unsellable’ and that in the summer a lot will depend on what the market can offer.

Chelsea called Milan years ago with an offer, in a negotiation that never got off the ground, yet these are ‘different times’. Today, for €80m, Leao would be allowed to leave ‘without asking for anything else’. It’s not out of the question that it might happen anyway, perhaps for a lower fee.

The next few weeks will be important because the discussions regarding his contract renewal have only been preliminary. The relationship between Milan and Leao won’t collapse because Leao isn’t that type, but the World Cup could offer a stage for him to shine. Then, who knows what can happen.

  1. Before selling him he should play on the wing again for a couple games so he at least gets the chance to shine again. Cause striker position is useless with no support from the wings
