In their time of need, it was not Cristiano Ronaldo who sealed Portugal’s place in the next round of the World Cup, but rather AC Milan.
After scoring earlier in the game, Ronaldo was substituted for Goncalo Ramos, who had only played 12 minutes at the tournament previously. On Friday morning, though, he was given 30 minutes to try and push the Selecao through to the next round.

His impact was almost immediate, too, with the Portuguese attack having a lively figurehead keen to add to an already fantastic week where his move to Milan was confirmed.
It could only really get better and it did.
Leao x Ramos delivers
Picking up the ball on the left flank – where he was having a fantastic game anyway – Rafael Leao delivered an inch-perfect cross to his new teammate, who nodded home well to give their side the all-important lead, as can be seen below, thanks to @OnlyMilaan.
Whether we’ll see them combine at San Siro remains to be seen, but it admittedly seems unlikely…

I think even some of the most patient Milan fans think it is time for Leao to go now. We have seen games like this last one too many times to wait then for another 10 games to do it again. We all know what he can do, but we all know that he also doesnt. That is the problem, and at this point I and may others here think it is time to cash out on him.
