AC Milan forward Rafael Leao has reacted to a story about his supposed salary demands and branded it as ‘fake news’.
The Portuguese star quote tweeted an exclusive article from the website Er Faina which claimed that Leao’s father, who also acts as a kind of agent for his son, had asked Milan to pay him a wage of €10 million per season in order to extend with the club.
He quoted the tweet and said ‘fake news as always’.
That is an amount well beyond what Milan are able to pay to keep the 23-year-old at the club beyond the end of his current deal which expires in 2024.
It is believed that the player is soon going to extend his deal with the Rossoneri and the negotiations will continue this week in Milan as his agent flies in to meet the club, along with the father who is already in Milan.
A new deal will likely see Leao earn €7-7.5 million.
