According to this morning’s edition of Corriere della Sera (via MilanNews), Leao’s renewal is something that continues to be spoken about by the management as they try and lock down a prized asset for the future.
Moreover, in recent weeks there has been growing confidence in reaching an agreement soon because the will of the Portuguese winger seems to be quite clear. In fact, the player reiterated to director Paolo Maldini and some team-mates that he wants to stay at Milan.
This is a good base to negotiate from but it will of course be necessary to turn confidence into pen on paper, something that did not happen with Gianluigi Donnarumma and Franck Kessie as they ended up leaving the club on free transfers.
