This evening, a report has emerged stating that AC Milan and Rafael Leao’s agency have begun the process of parting ways.
It is no secret that Leao and Milan are likely to separate this summer and today, the steps are being taken to make it happen. Interest so far has been low, so the positions of all parties need to be crystal clear.

Leao departure process underway
As MilanNews writes this evening, it has been a day of meetings for the Rossoneri, with Youssouf Fofana’s entourage also heading for a meeting this evening – presumably to discuss his likely exit this summer.
However, it appears that this is not the only meeting that has taken place.
According to the report, the new management team – conducted by Hendrik Almstadt and Bobby Gardiner – have held talks with Leao’s entourage to ‘begin the process’ that will lead to his eventual sale.
The forward’s comments did not go down well with Gerry Cardinale and he is open to the sale, as is the new head coach Ruben Amorim. If it didn’t already feel like the beginning of the end, it really does now.

Leao hasn’t shown anything on his own. If you can’t adjust to a new coaches style of play, well then you’re basically a system player, which deceases your stock massively, which is essentially what Leao has now been exposed for, he’s purely a system player, much like players like Phil Foden, Steven Gerrard and Paul Scholes, players who had very little adaptability to different systems which is why the above always looked terrible in a England shirt. A lot of people will talk about Simone Barone being a World Cup winner with the Azzurri in 2006 like it’s an insult, he was a far better overall footballer than the above mentioned overrated footballers.

Hopefully this assist will help getting him sold. As no proper team shown enough interest to make a bid for him throughout the last 7 years. We all know why.
That’s exactly what he does best, isnt it? Couple of good games and suddenly disappear for several others. Honestly, I think Milan fans have been nothing but patience when it comes to Leao. We’ve been hoping for his ‘breakout’ for 6-7 years now. We’ve been shielding him. Making excuses (many irrationals that is) for him. Letting his antiques slides.
And it’s only half of the last season when Milan fans decided enough is enough, when they started booing him. Mind you that he’s our highest paid player (both in transfer and in salary). So it’s normal to see our high expectation. And to see that inconsistency for years and years is nothing but patience.
If he does better in his upcoming club, good for him. I think his cycle with Milan is just naturally over, for many reasons we can talk all day. So that’s that.
