CM: Leao sends signs to Milan over renewal on social media – two issues affect the timing

Rafael Leao is certainly not agitating for a move away from AC Milan and some messages on social media seem to prove it, a report claims.

Calciomercato.com report that Leao has sent signs to Milan that he wishes to continue his development with the Rossoneri, something that the management obviously want too but which inevitably passes through him signing a new contract with a big pay rise to around €6m net per season.

The final green light will be needed from the next owner Gerry Cardinale, who should complete the purchase of the Elliott fund club by September, while the moment of transition at the corporate level is playing a role in the market strategies and therefore also renewals.

The ongoing dispute with Sporting CP and the payment of the fine of €16.5m also weighs on the Leao affair, and that in addition to the takeover issue is lengthening the timespan for a meeting between the parties to get to the heart of the extension talks.

RedBird for their part want to give further impulse to the project which Elliott Management started, one foreseeing the return of the Rossoneri to high levels in Europe, and retaining the best player in Serie A is therefore a mandatory step.

Leao meanwhile never misses an opportunity to reiterate his strong attachment to Milan, as seen during his recent Twitter interaction with Davide Calabria during which he confirmed a desire to win more Scudetti.
