AC Milan will be without Rafael Leao for their opening game of the season against Lecce after he underwent tests on a calf issue.

However, there was a worrying moment after the goal went in as the Portuguese winger sat down and seemed to suggest that he was struggling with calf pain. He was withdrawn for Santiago Gimenez, and since then there has been worried about his fitness.
According to the results of tests that Leao underwent at Milanello, the former Lille man has an elongation traume to his calf. He will be unavailable for the match against Cremonese at the weekend, and will be evaluated day by day ahead of the trip to Lecce.

Without any update regarding another forward for the team, it looks like for at least the first 3 Serie A matches we may only have Puli, Gimenez, Chuck, (i guess Jimenez?? too), and this is even considering if today we land a striker (they would need several weeks to get to speed with the whole squad).
I am not liking the options we have up top so far. Itll be a lot of pressure on Puli and Gimenez and we cant rely on the midfielders to consttantly deliver the way Reijnders did last season and who know what level Chuck and Jimenez will be at.

it’s one game each week and should we continue with a 3-5-2 then Puli and Santi, can do 3 weeks in a row no problem. If we do a 4-3-3 then no doubt Puli will move to the left, and Saladman or Chuck will do the right with Santi in the middle. It’s not a crisis, i guess it is my silver lining of not having UCL.
We appear thin up top, but anyone still thinking we’re going to use a 4-3-3 is daffy. 3-5-2 for thr duration and that means we only need four forwards. Leao, Pulisic, Gimenez and the new striker. So technically, with Okafor and Chukwueze, the numbers are currently where they should be for a 2 striker formation. However, this isn’t a comment on whether it’s the right personnel….
Leao is so rarely injured. It’s a pity.
RLC is on the verge of a breakthrough if he continues to be fit.
RLC without injuries in his carrier, would be close to Pogba, but that is how it is in life. Let’s hope he gets some continuity without injuries
