Rafael Leao has had to watch on during the first two games of the Serie A season as AC Milan lost and won, but he is working to return.

As Corriere dello Sport (via MilanNews) writes this morning, Leao has been sorely missed early in the season by Milan. The Portuguese winger scored against Bari in the Coppa Italia, but that was just before sustaining a calf problem that kept him out against both Cremonese and Lecce.

Fortunately, the test revealed no serious injury like a tear, so it’s expected that Leao will be fully available to head coach Massimiliano Allegri again over the break. In fact, the belief is he will be ready for the game against Bologna after the interval.

Milan’s training resumed yesterday afternoon, and the No.10 was at Milanello to continue his recovery with some individual work. That is the first step before rejoining the rest of the group, which will hopefully happen in the coming days.

Two of the club’s news signings – Christopher Nkunku and David Odogu – also enjoyed their first taste of the training complex. Overall, around half of the players remain under Allegri’s command as 12 of them have been called up by their respective national teams.

  1. Without Leao we are club like cremonese 😂😂
If we knowes good our americans, and i think we know them,Leao is next who will be sold.
That will hapens when some first time gave to us 80mill. Time will tell that i have right.

    1. More than the fee it has to do with his salary. His contract is up in 2028 and he either had to be extended next summer or sold to get max value. I bet he will ask for 9-10M salary and we won’t pay it. So yes, he will be sold at some point. The issue is when and for how much. However, this being Redbird, he might actually walk for free in 2028.

  2. Losing to Cremonese isn’t all that bad it’s an eye opener which we have to build from and improve more because I believe if we had won the first 2 games we would have believed it’s normal and continue with that but losing has shown us we should get ready.
On Leao he will improve the team and make our strikers shine with his system of playing and finally I think this season will surely be better than last season

    1. So you’re saying if we’d won the first two games we would have believed winning is normal and would have continued with that and that would have been bad? Lord help us.
