Milan Primavera suffered their fourth defeat of the season as Lecce prevailed 2-0 earlier today. As such, they are no longer at the top of the standings after what was a disappointing display.
Federico Guidi’s boys headed into the break in a very good mood after the 2-0 win against Cagliari. In fact, they were at the top of the standings with the same amount of points (22) as Lazio and Sassuolo, but goal difference has now pushed them down.
For today’s game against Lecce, Guidi was able to field a strong starting XI with the talented Mattia Liberali included. Despite this, the home side took control of the affair early on with goals in the 18th as well as the 21st minute.
Unfortunately, instead of getting close to bringing one back, it was Lecce who had the most dangerous chances in the rest of the game. The game thus finished 2-0 and Guidi will have to go back to the drawing board.
It was Lecce’s first win in seven games, which says a lot about Milan’s display, and technically the Rossoneri were not there today. Furthermore, the home side’s pressing made life difficult and Guidi’s side were unable to find the antidote.
