Lecce director ‘will not deny’ rumours of Milan and Lazio’s interest in Hjulmand

Lecce’s sporting director Pantaleo Corvino refused to deny that AC Milan, Lazio and other clubs are interested in signing Morten Hjulmand.

Milan have been linked with Hjulmand by multiple sources already this summer, the most recent being TMW who claimed that the 24-year-old is very open to a move away from Lecce who could let him leave for a fee of around €20m.

One of the things that could work in the Rossoneri’s favour is that Lecce are interested in Tommaso Pobega. Including the Italian in the deal would potentially halve the amount of money that Milan would have to part with.

Speaking in an interview with Sportitalia, Corvino responded to a question about whether Milan and Lazio have initiated approaches to try and sign the Dane, with FootballItalia relaying his comments.

“I’d have been shocked if we did not receive interest from both Italian and overseas clubs. I will not deny it, I have to be honest,” he said.

“Now we hope to bring in what the lad is truly worth, because what we are asking for definitely represents the quality that the player has shown on the field.”
