Athletic: Leeds United considering move for Okafor – how the situation could develop

The situation surrounding Noah Okafor this summer has been a little confusing, and it seems the Swissman could leave AC Milan.

For what it’s worth, pre-season means little to nothing. Last summer, Milan beat Manchester City and Barcelona, but they finished eighth. Because of the win against Liverpool, or the defeats against Arsenal and Chelsea, there is nothing to really take from these games in terms of merit.

Of course, we can take things about performances, though. Someone, then, who garnered a fair bit of attention throughout the tour was Okafor, who scored a brace against Liverpool and added to it against Perth Glory.

Leeds’ interest

However, it is the game against Leeds which could be most important. Despite not contributing anything, the attacker is now on the Whites’ radar, and they could become active in a move for him.

As The Athletic write this morning, Leeds are ‘interested’ in the idea of bringing him to the club. However, there have been no discussions or approaches made just yet. In the final few weeks of the window, he is a consideration to be looked at.

For what it is worth, the Peacocks have only added free transfers to their front-line this summer, so whether this would allow a permanent move, which would be required, remains to be seen.

    1. €25m should be the minimum we accept or keep him, great impact sub and fits into all of Allegri systems

We can then go Hojlund and Dusan

  1. Since we have wings covered he is a striker backup. Getting him out for 25M and signing Vlahovic or Krstovic for 15ish M would be amazing. If they want to loan him please just say no.

  2. This man is an excellent backup for both wings and even support striker at times. Why sell?? (apart maybe if worried about injuries)
