Report claims Leeds United could make ‘huge’ profit as Milan eye star winger

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have taken an interest in Leeds United forward Wilfried Gnonto ahead of the summer transfer window, according to a report.

As reported by talkSPORT, Leeds will ‘face a fight’ to keep hard of Gnoto in the summer mercato even if they avoid relegation from the Premier League to the Championship with the 19-year-old attracting interest from around Europe.

He moved to West Yorkshire from Swiss side FC Zurich last summer and has stood out in a side that have generally struggled this season, having amassed five goals contributions (two goals, three assists) in 17 Premier League appearances.

As per the report, clubs such as Milan and Juventus are keen to bring the Italy international back to Serie A, however there is also ‘genuine interest’ from Chelsea too.

Leeds paid just £4m (around €5m) to sign Gnonto, so if they did sell the teenager then they can ‘expect to make a huge profit’ compared to what they paid.
