Leggo: Napoli take lead in Ibrahimovic race as Milan may turn to Llorente

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan could consider a move for Fernando Llorente if they miss out on Zlatan Ibrahimovic, according to a report.

The Rossoneri have seemingly made the Swede their main target for the January transfer window in a bid to add leadership and firepower, and we reported that Boban even dreames of unveiling him before Sunday’s game against Sassuolo.

However optimism has faded since as a decision has not yet arrived. Swedish journalist and friend of Zlatan – Jennifer Wegerup – also stated that his mind is far from made up, teasing that he would like to play in Naples to end his career.

Now, Leggo – via MilanNews.it – have provided an update which suggests that Napoli are now leading in the race to land the 38-year-old

They claimed that the Swede has not responded to the offer Milan tabled weeks ago, and that Gennaro Gattuso wants to reunite with him in Naples, with Aurelio De Laurentiis now trying to convince the striker.

Should Napoli end up signing Ibrahimovic, the paper adds that there is the possibility that Milan may turn to Fernando Llorente as an alternative, though Mario Mandzukic has also been mentioned.
