Gianluigi Donnarumma has joined Paris Saint-Germain for less money than he would have earned at AC Milan, according to a report.
French source L’Equipe (via FootballItalia) claims that Donnarumma will initially earn less with the Ligue 1 giants than the contract extension he turned down at Milan despite speculation that he signed a deal worth €12m net per season.
L’Equipe have ‘analysed the paperwork’ and claim that the 22-year-old will not actually earn close to that amount as the contract until June 2026 that he signed is worth a guaranteed €7m per season after taxes. Milan were offering around €8m net per year, but he chose to turn it down.
At PSG he will earn performance-related bonuses and add-ons that could take him up to a maximum of €10m per year based on whether PSG win Ligue 1 title and the Champions League, but it is also worth mentioning that Gigio is on a lower salary than his teammate Keylor Navas.
