L’Equipe: Lyon enter the fray for one of Milan’s defensive targets

By Euan Burns -

French side Lyon are ready to rival AC Milan for the signing of Clement Lenglet who is one of the Rossoneri’s many centre-back targets this winter, a report claims.

As has been reported by French newspaper L’Equipe (via Milan News), Lyon could find themselves linked to Milan in more ways than one over the next month or so.

They are reported to be interested in signing Milan midfielder Rade Krunic next month, and they also want to stop Milan from securing a deal for Lenglet.

The defender is currently on loan at Aston Villa from Barcelona but he still seems to be on the market in January.

Milan are in desperate need of more defenders and Lenglet is one of four or five names who could very feasibly arrive at San Siro when the window opens on January 1.

Lenglet has had very few minutes at Aston Villa under Unai Emery this season, but the Spanish coach has voiced his desire to keep him at the club for the rest of the season.

For Barcelona, it could be more attractive to send Lenglet to a club where he will play regularly and can rebuild his market value ready for the summer.
