L’Equipe: Milan had €15m offer for defender rejected last week – the situation

By Isak Möller -

Milan are looking for centre-back this month and have identified several targets on the market. Mohamed Simakan has been widely reported as their first choice, but it might be tough for the Rossoneri to sign him.

According to today’s edition of L’Equipe, cited by MilanNews, Milan presented a €15m offer (including bonuses) to Strasbourg last week. However, the French side want to keep Simakan and decided to reject the offer.

They are currently 17th in Ligue 1 and certainly don’t want to get relegated, which is why coach Thierry Laurey needs Simakan. Furthermore, they are under no obligation to sell him financially, but the question is for how long they can turn down big offers.

In addition to Milan, the likes of Chelsea and Napoli are also keeping tabs on the defender’s situation. The Rossoneri want to sign him now and won’t give up just yet, while the other suitors are willing to wait until the summer.
