L’Equipe: Milan eagerly watch on as West Ham reach €60m in Paqueta negotiations

AC Milan are following the Lucas Paqueta with great interest as they are entitled to 15% of the transfer fee. And it looks like the fee paid by West Ham will be a rather significant one, at least based on the latest reports.

Lyon have stood firm on their demands during the negotiations and this is indeed good news for Milan. When the Rossoneri sold Paqueta almost two years ago now, they included a 15% resale clause in the deal.

According to the reliable L’Equipe, West Ham have accelerated in the last few hours and only a few details remain in the negotiations with Lyon. The final transfer fee is likely to be around €60m including bonuses, which is great news for Milan.

Granted that the bonuses aren’t certainties, Milan should perhaps do their calculations based on €50m or so, which would be €7.5m (thanks to 15% clause). A figure that could be used by the Rossoneri to boost the midfield. In short, Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara are eagerly watching on.

Edit: Milan are entitled to 15% of the profit, i.e. the difference between what Lyon paid and then sold Paqueta for. 15% of €40m it should be, therefore.
