CM: Lewandowski brands Poland defender ‘extraordinary’ as Milan continue to monitor

By Oliver Fisher -

Some big words of praise arrived for Jakub Kiwior from his compatriot Robert Lewandowski, and the AC Milan management will certainly have been taking now.

Rumours about Kiwior exploded last week when a report from Goal.pl stated that multiple sources had suggested the 22-year-old centre-back is very close to transferring to Milan from Spezia, with someone close to the player adding that ‘everything is done’.

Denials then arrived from outlets in Italy about the deal being at such an advanced state but none of them denied that Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara are watching Kiwior closely as he continues to impress.

Calciomercato.com have published a report stating Milan are keen on his plus a glowing endorsement, as Kiwior has even impressed his international team-mate Robert Lewandowski, who praised him after seeing him play even though he did admit to not knowing him prior to their first game together.

“I noticed him in the warm-up before the game and wondered who he was. Then I saw him in the game and I realised that he is an extraordinary player. He has enormous potential,” he said.
