Mattia Liberali Milan

CM: Liberali ‘appeals’ for a chance before ‘considering’ moves away from Milan

Mattia Liberali is one of the gems available to AC Milan, but he has struggled to find an opportunity amongst the senior players despite being used heavily in the summer.

During the pre-season tour, Liberali was quite a revelation of Paulo Fonseca, and with impressive performances against some of the best teams in Europe, fans called for him to be given opportunities with the first team.

However, chances have not arrived, and the 17-year-old has not been thrusted into the limelight. Instead, he has had to remain alongside Daniele Bonera’s struggling Futuro side, where he has struggled to adapt to Serie C – a situation in some ways comparable to Francesco Camarda.

Perhaps, because of the chances given to Camarda after his struggles with Futuro, Calciomercato.com reports that Liberali has ‘appealed’ for a chance among the seniors, after imagining that the season would go down a different path.

In an ideal world, he had thought of a shared role between the Futuro squad and the first team, but he has yet to find his footing, so has appealed for a chance with the first team.

This came before he started to ‘consider’ looking away from Milan, and with Atalanta and Fiorentina keeping tabs on the situation, it seems that they could have been ‘alerted’ about a possible move.

        1. 169cm. a 17yo 169cm guy vs 190+cm defenders.. what can go wrong?

We should play him every game…

i’ll be the fool. At least there is just one of me.
Idi0ts like you are a dime a dozen. i stopped counting and memorising yall names.. sooooo many

          1. So let’s play RLC the, he’s a tall man mountain…no measurable talent as a footballer but it’s all about size hey…ridiculous.

          2. If it really is between a nobody teenager and a dude who won a thing or two and has, unfortunately, played there for half a season last under baldy, yeah the logical choice is the ruben

        1. dude just came on and starting throwing names around like messi and foden becasue they are short..
this is what i mean by a dime a dozen.. how stupid can you get Drew? to meniton a 17yo kid who did 0 so far in football with names like that?

We shold just get Messi and Foden. And sell Liberali

          1. No…you see you’ve mentioned as the primary objection that he’s short…in your words ‘a dwarf’…Messi was shirt and debuted at 17 for Barca. He’s never had huge size and never needed it. Messi is the bloody case in point that a footballer doesn’t need huge size to be top quality….that’s why i mentioned him, not that Liberali is at this point as good as Messi…please try and keep up. RLC is dreadful, when Pulisic is not fit, we have no back up…we are talking a back up here….he did pretty well pre season against men..

          2. I don’t need to keep up. One is a winger the other a wannabe AM.
Nothing alike. And the second you mention messi you lose any credibility you might had (you had zero btw for more info let’s go back to dime and dozen). Only a pure m0r0n would name drop messi in a “discussion” about a 17yo Milan player in 2024.
Messi has one in a billion talent.
This liberali doesn’t even look like a one in a 10k.

And I don’t watch preseason games. That’s exhibition. Fine for muricans to watch live, waste of time for a guy like me.
A 12yo could do fine in an exhibition match. Totally irrelevant.

          3. A waste of time to Watch games like any other fan, but wasting time on a forum spewing nonsense and attacking other fellow fans with ridiculus arguments? Flyingturtle is an interista in disguise. Support another team ffs

          4. i dont care if someone is a milna fan or not. an idi0t is an idi0t. i dont discriminate.

Only idi0ts tell other people to support something else. Whats next? you gonna tell me i shouldn’t use the same TP brand as you? Go find a new one?

          5. Yet the general consensus seems to be that you’re the idiot…

Your issue is you take everything personally as an attack on what your view might be, and rather than objectively read others comments you blurt our diatribe and insults. My comment merely stated that contesrty to your ‘too young, too small’ comment, many players have made it at this age/size, including the legend Messi…there are others, Foden, Deco, Maradona, Owen….

Now I wonder if this comment will get posted or lost like the others I wrote earlier today

          6. i dont have any issiues and i couldnt give a f less what people on the internet write.. i just make it by bussines to tell yall you’re idi0ts. because i KNOW you people are lying to yourselfs.
            call it a community service.
Someone might go ‘oh why is this dude calling me an idi0t’ and have a nice little think about it and maybe come to an understanding about themselves.. Most people just go ‘ oh this dude called me an idi0t, he’s wrong and he’s the idi0t’..

            See what i did there?

          7. So why do you feel the need to come online to tell people their idiots? 😂 if you don’t want to play nice……f@ck off and do what you do on your own…most people here are respectful of others opinions…but not angry dad

      1. All the players Milan discard seem to go on and do very well at other clubs. It’s sad really.
The Liberali haters clearly did not watch our pre season. He got 0 minutes other than that. Do you know who got a lot of minutes in the same role, while playing horribly….guess.

        1. Name all the Milan players on loan who are doing well, then name all the Milan players on loan who aren’t doing well.
The go meditate on the meaning of the world ‘all’.

Hey, I saw a preseason once where krunic did great. Want Milan to bring him back?
We are in a desperate need of a balancer anyway

      2. You are embarrassingly dense. Only size matters for football? You realize one of the greatest players of all time is 170 cm. He also made his debut at 17. But you’re right, size is the only thing that matters. The best thing you can do is get off the internet.

        1. I never size is the only thing that matters. You’re the dense one for coming to that conclusion somehow..
Best you could do is go back to school. From 1st grade up.
Learn some reading comprehension and other basics you so clearly lack..

          1. “169cm. a 17yo 169cm guy vs 190+cm defenders.. what can go wrong?”

You’re words. Literally only mention size and age. Your family must be so ashamed to claim you

  1. All of the Fonseca’s supporters at the start of the season said that one of the reasons he’s a good fit is that he can be the bridge between the first team and our youth team. Lol.

  2. Ooo another potential case of Jan Carlo Simic.
Hmm I wonder if he leaves, the couch pro fans would say he left, because he did not want to stay and not that he was pushed out by the debilitating system that Milan has in using its youths.
    🤔

  3. It’s a crime that Liberali is not in the first team given how horrible RLC has been. What a shame. These clowns at Milan is going ruin another gem. Smh

      1. The merit that the club has resources and the ones being currently utilised are sh!te! Just as when Parma had to resort to a 16 y/o Buffon, and we had to resort to young Abbiati and Donarumma…the too young too small argument really is pathetic. Look at Toriani, the lad has done superbly when called on and he’s hardly a man mountain yet is he….I for one would rather see Liberali than RLC start against Genoa

        1. you dont even know what merit means.. another proof you are an IDI0T!

arent you just a little bit ashmed of the bs you keep writting that has NOTHING to do with the “discussion”

You just keep dropping names that have nothing, and i cant stress that nothing enough, to do with Liberali and why the dude isnt even playing regulary in serie C.
          SERIE C!!!!!!!!

But nah in your IDI0T head, he is good enough to play for Milan in Serie A.

Makes no sense, how can someone be so dense?

          1. Merit has More than one meaning…I’m not going to insult you in return mr angry…lol.

The lack of form from Milan’s first team players merit investigating looking at the youth system for an answer…

Now let’s not use CAPITALS to make up
For our lack of brain prowess and prove to everyone what an angry troll we are. Read the room sunshine

The fact that I mentioned a number of players world class who are both 5.7 and peaked young as a reference to why Liberali could work for us is something anyone can join the dots with…kids playing together against men in Serie C doesn’t mean a talent won’t make it playing with men as teammates in Serie A.

Just more evidence that you’ve NEVER EVER PLAYED THIS GAME TO ANY STANDARD

  4. 17 yo and not cutting it in Seria C? Just because he is Italian and is an academy product doesn’t guarantee him getting a call up. I understand he wants to play, but he needs to earn it. Seeing him during the summer tour against teams’ third stringers doesn’t mean he should start for the A team.

  5. Hard to believe RLC gets more minutes than this promising young player. At 17 years old he is much better than the useless RLC.

  6. Liberali isn’t ready for Serie A. The problem is Bonera is too dense to get the best out of him so Mattie is back to Primavera with no development to show with it. I feel for the kid.

He would be wise to break out and go to Atalanta.

    1. The sad story is would he be if he had been used properly? 10-15 mins here and there….75 against Sassuolo’s reserves in the cup? This is where we always falter. The league is littered with talent we have failed to capitalise on.

I mean who wouldn’t give a kidney to have Bellanova as our starting RB now?

    2. Under Bonera even Origi and Balo Toure are bad. Not saying they are some top players, but still they have been playing in top leagues and should have no problem to stand out in Seria C. However it seems the problem of Milan Futuro is not induvidual talent but coach/organization.

  7. I don’t see why not bring a winger to put on and try to fight for a place in LW because okafor doesn’t work well anymore. Liberali is one to keep especially when again Atalanta wants him and put okafor as CAM or sell him.
