Mattia Liberali has been one of the revelations of the summer, and AC Milan have high hopes for his future after several impressive displays.
It has been a summer of experiments for Paulo Fonseca, and that includes at youth and senior levels. Most notably, we have seen Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Pierre Kalulu in new roles, but we have seen young talents be exposed to the senior set-up, and Liberali, perhaps, has been a highlight.
The attacking midfielder has performed well several times, and whilst you could argue that it was against players in a similar position to himself, he still has shone, showing that he could be a player for the future.
Nevertheless, Fonseca could utilise the youngster in parts this season, reducing the amount of pressure on him to make a step up when the time is right, given he will have already made cameos for the senior team.
Liberali, a player who has been with the club for almost 10 years, has dreamt of playing at San Siro, and against Monza, he had the chance to do that, and Milan News relays his reflection of the experience.
“The stadium I dreamt of as a child became reality last night…. I have no words to describe what I felt.”
I personally think this guy should be the big hype over camarda. He looks like someone with enormous potential and I hope fonseca gives him some minutes. This preseason he has dazzled with unbelievable dribbling skills and nutmeg, and that goal for italy reminded me just like messi.
We all have that feeling in Milan my friend, you’re not alone. This boy is legit, he might be able to do what CDK and Paqueta couldn’t. Be a proper Trequartista in Serie A, something we’ve haven’t had since Rui Costa.
Since KAKA
And Boban before them
such a great talent i swear if we sell him……
Torriani, Bartesaghi, Zeroli, Liberali, Camarda – the new old guard?
Yes, many clubs’ fans have been here with this kind of thinking before and it’s not worked out, and the law of averages says at least one of them won’t hit their ceiling, but I don’t care; right now those 5 names excite me a lot – and there are others too!!!!
This guy is exciting. All he needs now is play time and another 20lbs of muscle.
It’ll come, 17 year old R9 was a beanpole then by 98 was well built, same with players like Rio Ferdinand. Most important thing for me is to keep him interested and integrate him
Highly Impressed with what I’ve seen in pre season, the Foden comparisons are legit. He looks very assured and capable. I want to see him in games this season, not just meaningless coppa games or rotation games, alongside Leao and Pulisic or Chukwueze
Foden was voted best player in the best league in the world – so that’s a bit of a stretch saying comparisons are legit right now. I hope they are soon enough.
I mean Foden from 2017-18, not Foden now. The buzz around Foden back then was being lauded by all the right people and City handled his development brilliantly, we need to follow suit
The lad is amazing
The icing on his game is the level of confidence he has doing things and keeping them simple
I feel they need to build his body more so he can be ready for full time first team present next season
