Libero: Abate, Shevchenko, Motta – Milan evaluating interim and long-term options

Stefano Pioli was confirmed as the head coach yesterday, but it is clear that he will have to immediately make a change in his Milan’s moment of crisis otherwise he may lose the support of the ownership.

The Milan management obviously have to prepare for all eventualities and that includes the potential that the team cannot get themselves out of the current rut and that they continue to struggle in the league, putting top four at risk.

As reported by Libero (via MilanNews), in the event of a change of head coach being forced during the current campaign, an interim manager would be appointed to guide things through until the end of the season.

Andriy Shevchenko is a name that has emerged and he has been offered to the management through intermediaries, but this option does not particularly warm them. The most likely scenario would instead be Ignazio Abate being promoted.

In the summer, the club would then go for a profile with a little more experience. A name that is very popular for the future is that of Thiago Motta, who is doing excellent things this year with Bologna.
